Token US DeMolay 1950 to Date

The Knights Templar was and is a religious military order prominent in finance. The organization existed for nearly two centuries during the Middle Ages. Since at least the 18th century, Freemasonry has incorporated Templar symbols and rituals in a number of Masonic bodies. Jacques de Molay was Grand Master during the 1300s who met his death as a martyr. The modern DeMolay International was founded in Kansas City, Missouri, in 1919, as an organization for young men ages 12 to 21. This token comes from the modern organization, and is often used as a 'pocket piece' by members.
