Token South Africa Gold Reef City 1986

Gold Reef City is a large amusement park in Johannesburg, South Africa. The portrait on the front of these tokens is of Paulus Kruger (1825-1904), better known as Uncle Paul, State President of the South African Republic. The different denominations of tokens, ranging from 1/4 penny to 1 pond, have different animals on the reverse. There are tokens made of copper, aluminum, and brass.

These novetly pieces sell for a few US dollars on Internet auction sites. As always, better condition means better price. Typically circulated pieces may sell for $1 US dollar; a fully uncirculated piece may reach $10.
