These borderline modern coins were struck in plenty of numbers, and have not acquired a strong collector following. They are quite nice looking, with the golden color from the aluminum-bronze alloy, and the pleasing obverse design showing a flowering orchid.
The 10 and 25 centimos coins look quite alike, except the 25 centimos coins are bigger and, of course, have a large numeral '25' instead of '10'. The design of the orchid is also slightly different between the two denominations.
The HF mint mark on the 1947, 1948 and 1951 dates means Huguenin Frères, a mint in Le Locle, the 'watch capital' of Switzerland that routinely struck coins for other countries in need of minting assistance.
All dates, regardless of denomination, are worth about the same:
worn: less than $1 US dollar approximate catalog value
average circulated: less than $1
well preserved: $2
fully uncirculated: $5
25 centimos dated 1944 catalog at $1 average circulated, $12 fully uncirculated.
Damaged coins are worth zero. Please read our Important Terminology page found at the top left in order to properly interpret these catalog values.
