This is a colorful token, to be sure. It is one of many different types of patriotic tokens issued by private companies during the time of the American Civil War.
Civil War Tokens are avidly collected by a small but dedicated group of collectors, and they pay high prices for nice-looking specimens. We have a general page on CWTs, with approximate values, more pictures, and web references at this CoinQuest link [Press Here].
The 'Shoot Him on the Spot' token runs roughly like this:
worn: $10 US dollars approximate catalog value
average circulated: $20
well preserved: $40
fully uncirculated: $200
Crystal appears to have one of the varieties of this token with a spelling mistake, and a funny spelling mistake at that. SHOOT HIM ON THE SPOOT appears instead of SHOOT HIM ON THE SPOT. It turns out that the SPOOT variety is quite common, so the catalog values for SPOOT are the same as those for SPOT, as shown above.
However, if it were me, and I had a chance to buy either a SPOOT or SPOT token, I'd go for the funny one for sure. I'd even pay, say, 10 percent more for it. What a great conversation piece!
