Token US Glidden Varnish 1890
Is this a cool token, or what?
The parent company of Glidden Varnish started in Cleveland, Ohio back in 1875, and this token comes from around that time. The pattern shows on old entries in architectural journals, the WIND O SPAR and NP SPECIAL COACH inscriptions indicate early origins. Copper and base-metal versions of the tokens were made, most with loops for hanging.
