Ich habe keine Zeit mehr müde zu sein means I have no more time to be tired. These were among the last words of Kaiser Wilhelm I of the German State of Prussia in 1888, and his last signature (letzte unterschrift) appears on this commemorative medal.
Wilhelm I was the first Head of State of a united Germany. Under his leadership, and that of his Minister President Otto von Bismarck, Prussia achieved the unification of Germany and the establishment of the German Empire.Wilhelm was polite and gentlemanly, and while a staunch conservative, he was also open to some classical liberal ideas. His 'last signature' memorial was beloved in Germany.
These medals come in various patterns and compositions, as shown in the secondary pictures. They all have a portrait of Wilhelm and they all have the famous signature, but other details vary from medal to medal. As far as we know, all medals are made of non-precious metal. If you can find one in silver or gold, it will have added value due to precious metal content.
