Fi you have 10 Dinar COMMEMORATION OF INDEPENDENCE from the Kingdom of Bahrain. Bahrain is an Arabic island country in the Persian Gulf ruled by the Al Khalifa royal family. There is not a lot of information available about this coin. The most comprehensive write-up is found on the Chard web site Tax Free Gold [Press Here], and CoinQuest thanks Chard for use of this coin photo.
The date of manufacture is not clear. The mintage seems to be low, about 3000 coins, although more coins could be produced in the future. The 1971 date on the coin is the date of independence, not the date of manufacture.
At today's market price of gold, about $1285 US dollars per troy ounce, the base value (BV) of gold content is 0.4717 x 1285 = $606 US dollars. (Look up the price of gold on kitco.com; it changes every day.) Chard is selling these near $1000, about $400 over BV, accounting for the low mintage. If more coins are produced, the premium will go down.
If you have a coin like this for sale, figure that a dealer would pay about BV to buy it from you.
