Now that's a nice looking medal. It was issued, obviously, as Rhodesia declared its independence from the United Kingdom, with Prime Minister Ian Smith on the front and Rhodesian symbols on the back.
These medals come in silver and bronze, with catalog values roughly as follows:
BRONZE MEDAL
worn: $5 US dollars approximate catalog value
average circulated: $10
well preserved: $15
fully uncirculated: $20
SILVER MEDAL
worn: $20 US dollars approximate catalog value
average circulated: $25
well preserved: $35
fully uncirculated: $70
These are catalog values for medals that have no problems. Problems include scratches, stains, cleanings, nicks, gouges, spots, and the like. Be sure to read our Important Terminology page so you can convert these catalog values to actual buy and sell values.
