These coins made of copper-nickel were released from Mumbai mint, in order to commemorate the birth centenary (1889-1989) of India's first Prime Minister, Jawahar Lal Nehru.

The varieties have to do with the size of the Prime Minister's portrait, the length of the 'R' serif, and the size of the teeth around the outer edge of the coin. It is an interesting study.
