Jersey is the largest and best known island among the (English) Channel Islands. This large coin, 40 mm in diameter, commemorates 900 years from the Battle of Hastings in 1066 to 1966. This battle was fought between the Norman-French army of Duke William II and the English army lead by King Harold II. Even if this coin is not made out of precious metal it has a fair value when in brilliant mint condition.
