Venezuela, officially called the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, is a country on the northern coast of South America. During his lifetime, Simon Bolivar led Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, Panama, and Venezuela to independence from Spain. He helped lay the democratic foundations of much of Hispanic America.
