The Nazi Party had declared May Day (1 May) a day to celebrate German industry and labor (Tag der Arbeit). As usual, they manufactured countless tokens, medallions, pins, and the like as commemorative keepsakes for the celebration. This one focuses on the Opel Automobile.
There are several web sites that specialize in Nazi memorabilia, but we could not find this medal on any of them. However, Munzhandel Andreas Fenzl in Bocholt, Germany sold one recently for 40 euros, about $48 US dollars, and that is a good indication of price:
worn: $25 US dollars approximate catalog value
average circulated: $40
well preserved: $80
fully uncirculated: $120
CoinQuest thanks Munzhandel Andreas Fenzl for use of their photo. It is a nice example.
Note that the prices here are quoted as catalog value. Use our Important Terminology page to convert catalog values to actual buy and sell values.
