This is a silver denarius of Emperor Trajan. The reclining goddess on the back with the wheel represents Via Traiana, a famous roadway starting in Rome and leading to the 'heel' of the 'boot' of Italy. It was built by Trajan.

The nice looking coin in our picture comes from Roma Numismatics in London where it sold for 120 British pounds (about $180 US dollars) during a 2013 auction.

Very roughly:

worn: $50
average circulated: $100
well preserved: $200
