With a few noted exceptions, these aluminum-bronze coins from Spain carry small values. For all dates except 1983 and 1985, catalog values run like this:
ALL DATES EXCEPT 1983 AND 1985:
worn: less than $1 US dollar approximate catalog value
average circulated: $1
well preserved: $2
fully uncirculated: $5
100 PESETAS DATED 1983 OR 1985:
worn: less than $1 US dollar approximate catalog value
average circulated: $1
well preserved: $3
fully uncirculated: $30
Note how the values for 1983 and 1985 coins are essentially the same as the rest, except for the 'fully uncirculated' entry. It is very difficult to find fully uncirculated examples of the 1983 and 1985 coins. That is why the price goes up.
In our secondary graphic (to the right), the (A) coin is in average circulated condition, while the (B) coin is fully uncirculated. If you have a 1983 or 1985 100 pesetas that looks like the (B) coin, congratulations. Otherwise values are low.
