Germany (Julich Berg) 1/4 and 1/2 Stuber 1765 to 1794
These are small-denomination copper coins from the old German State of Julich Berg. The two denominations, 1/4 and 1/2 stuber, are almost equal in value and the value does not change with date or mint mark (e.g., AK, CLS, PM)
The coin in our picture is in superb condition and it brought 450 euros (about $490 US dollars) during a 2014 auction by Emporium Hamburg. The Emporium coin is very unusual. Most specimens never reach half that value.
1/4 and 1/2 STUBER:
worn: $10 US dollars approximate catalog value
average circulated: $25
well preserved: $60
fully uncirculated: $200
