US Woodmen of the World

Token US Woodmen of the World

Woodmen of the World is a fraternal organization founded by Joseph Cullen Root in Omaha, Nebraska on June 6, 1890. Their motto, Dum Tacet Clamat, is Latin for, 'Though silent, he speaks.' Pennies like these (there are several variations) are keepsakes and identifying tokens for members of the society. Many fraternal organizations produce similar pieces.

The example in our picture is nice looking with an interesting wear and toning pattern that accentuates the details of the token. It would probably sell for $10 US dollars or so.
