Argentina (Buenos Aires) 5/10 Real 1827 to 1831

These coins were struck at the Soho Mint in England and are very hard to find in good condition. The catalog values show a marked rise for better coins:

Sometimes you find these coins with 'something fishy' going on. It appears that they were made over another coin, and some of the original coin shows through. If you have such a piece, consult a professional numismatist (coin person) for an appraisal. The struck-over coins can be quite valuable.
