Several coin designs were issued by Panama between 1907 and 1985. This page applies to ones that compare to our picture, with a large denomination value (2 1/2 or 5) on one side and a flag-draped coat-of-arms on the other.
Some of the older coins are tough to find in nice condition. Most I have seen have been pretty well beat up. If yours is in average circulated condition without spots, stains, or cleanings, you are doing well. More modern coins are plentiful and worth very little.
