These transit tokens were issued by the city of New Orleans around 1970, boasting the motto of 'SAFE CONVENIENT TRANSPORTATION'. Where Jeannine's token reads 'ONE PARK RIDE', similar tokens read 'ONE BASE FARE' or 'ONE CASH FARE'. In the great 'Atwood-Coffee Catalogue of United States and Canadian Transportation Tokens” the 'ONE BASE FARE'-type is found under the reference 'LA-760-H'. They were used to pay for riding the streetcars of New Orleans, but have now been rendered obsolete as the 'New Orleans Public Service Inc.' does no longer operate the New Orleans streetcars - they are now under the Regional Transit Authority.
Being modern tokens produced in large quantities, they are not worth much. Once in a while, you'll see one being sold to a collector for a couple US dollars on an online auction site.
