Token Medieval France Denier Parisis (Counterfeit) 1467

The livre parisis, or Paris pound, was a standard for minting French coins during medieval times. There were 12 deniers parisis in one livre parisis. This is a replica of a deniers parisis, supposedly during the reign of King Louis XI from 1461 to 1483. Actually, the coin looks like one from the reign of Charles VI, a few decades earlier, as shown in the picture of genuine deniers parisis to the right.

Since this is just a replica, it is worth about zero. Collectors may pay a few US dollars to buy one for their collections.

The inscription reads 'les tresor des rois de france' or 'the treasure of kings of France' followed by COLLECTION BP. This could be a novelty piece created by the BP petroleum company, but we have not been able to verify this guess. The value is very low.
