These are rare and beautiful coins from the old Italian state of Genoa. There are many (very many) variations of this coin, so we can only give very general guidance in our simple CoinQuest forum. The patterns and inscriptions on the variations are roughly the same, but not exactly. Here is a summary:
1/4 SCUDO: about 20 mm diameter, about 9 grams
1/2 SCUDO: about 35 mm diameter, about 18 grams
SCUDO: about 40 mm diameter, about 36 grams
2 SCUDI: about 55 mm diameter, about 76 grams
4 SCUDI: about 60 mm diameter, about 150 grams

We have not been able to find examples of counterfeit coins, but we would be surprised if they did not exist. Please be sure to apply plenty of careful research if you have a coin like this.
