India (Mysore) 10 and 20 Cash 1810 to 1833

India (Mysore) 10 and 20 Cash 1810 to 1833

These are neat old coins from the Indian Princely State of Mysore. On the front is a stylized elephant, which is a predominant pattern on many Mysore coins. The back contains a legend with the denomination, sometimes clear, sometimes not:

X CASH (10 cash)
XX CASH (20 cash)

The denomination matters little to collector value. What matters the most is eye appeal. In general:

10 AND 20 CASH:
worn: $8 US dollars approximate catalog value
average circualted: $20
well preserved: $80

The 20 cash in our secondary picture (to the right) had great eye appeal. The images are crisp and clear and the strike is centered on the planchet so the design and legends are readable. This is a $75 coin. Most of the examples you see are worth far less.
