US Gold Seal Award (Watling Slot Machines) (Fakes are possible) 1933 to 1939

Token US Gold Seal Award (Watling Slot Machines) (Fakes are possible) 1933 to 1939

There is an interesting discussion thread on these neat tokens over at TreasureNet. They come from Watling Company, a manufacturer of slot machines in Chicago.

These tokens carry good value, but you have to be careful of modern reproductions, which are worth far less. We are not sure, but later issues, during the last part of the 1930s, probably omit the swastika because the Nazis hijacked that symbol which originally meant 'good luck.'

ORIGINAL GOLD SEAL AWARD TOKENS:
worn: $5 US dollars approximate catalog value
average circulated: $10
well preserved: $25
fully uncirculated: $50

MODERN REPLICAS:

Convert these catalog values to actual buy-and-sell values by applying the concepts on our Important Terminology page.
