The city of Danzig in northern Poland was its own 'free city' between 1919 and 1939, issuing its own coinage during that period. The 1 and 2 gulden coins of 1923 are silver:
1 GULDEN 1923: 0.1206 troy ounces silver
2 GULDEN 1923: 0.2411 troy ounces silver
These are rare coins. Their silver value contributes to overall value only when the coin is severely worn or damaged. The 2 gulden in our picture has a strong dark, linear stain on the reverse under the lions, but, even with that defect, this coin sold for about $100 US dollars during a 2015 auction.
