US Wells Fargo 150th Anniversary 2002

Medal US Wells Fargo 150th Anniversary 2002

The Wells Fargo Company has a grand history, and the spiffy stagecoach is still their emblem to this day. In 2002 they celebrated their 150th anniversary and they issued commemorative medals for the occasion. There are, at least, 3 versions we know of (maybe several more):

BRONZE MEDAL DATED 1852 - 2002
BRONZE UNIFACE MEDAL WITH STAGECOACH
SILVER ROUND: one troy ounce pure silver (look on edge)

These are memorable keepsakes for many people and they carry some value today.

To find value, first find the base value (BV), or the value due to precious metal. For the bronze pieces, BV = 0. For the silver round, BV = the current price of silver. Today, according to Kitco, silver is trading at $15 US dollars per troy ounce, so BV = $15. Look it up. The price of silver changes every day.

Once you have BV, the values of these medals are:

worn: BV
average circulated: BV
well preserved: BV + $3
fully uncirculated: BV + $10
