William (Willem) II reigned in the Netherlands from 1840 to 1849. For the last two years of his reign, he issued 5, 10, and 25 cents coins with his likeness on one side and a wreath on the other.
5 CENTS: 0.0141 troy ounces silver
10 CENTS: 0.0288 ounces silver
25 CENTS: 0.0736 ounces silver
The silver is only 64 percent pure, so each coin contains small amounts of the precious metal. Nevertheless, these coins are difficult to find today, and that makes them valuable to collectors. We quote typical catalog values.

There is a twist with these coins which is sure to get collector juices flowing. Many of these coins are minted with a small dot after the date. The dot is very small, but plain, as shown in both images on this page. If you can find certain coins without the dot, the value goes up substantially, as follows.
10 CENTS DATED 1849 WITHOUT DOT

average circulated: $250
well preserved: $600
fully uncirculated: $1200
25 CENTS DATED 1848 WITHOUT DOT

Hope you have a good one!
