Czechoslovakia Bohemia & Moravia 1 Koruna 1941 to 1944

The Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia was established in Czechoslovakia in 1939. This was a result of German occupation - Nazi Germany had plans to dissipate Czech nationality. These coins were minted during the occupation to replace the Czech koruna. Of course, when Germany surrendered to the Allies in 1945, it was no longer necessary for these coins to be minted and the Czech koruna was brought back.

The coins are made of zinc and weigh 4.5 grams. While they are yet another interesting numismatic bit of history to come from this turbulent time period, hundreds of millions were minted and they do not command a high retail value.
