Ancient Rome Tetradrachm of Nero with Alexandria 54AD to 68AD

Emperor Nero has become one of the more infamous Roman Emperors in the modern day, thus an interest in his coins. His name carries an image of a madman stemming from various stories and claims, such as his instigation of the Great Fire of Rome, which burnt down a significant portion of the city, or perhaps his image comes from contemporary political slander and exaggeration.

This coin is a billon tetradrachm with the emporor's radiate head on one side and a personification of the Egyptian city of Alexandria.

Inscriptions are NERW KLAY KAIS SEB GER and AYTO-KRA.
