Germany Brunswick-Luneburg 1/4, 1/2, and 1 Thaler 1649 to 1665
These grand old silver thalers (pronounced like 'dollars' but with a 'th') come from the old German State of Brunswick Luneburg Celle, in north-central Germany. There are three denominations. Use size to determine what you've got:
1/4 THALER: about 30 mm diameter
1/2 THALER: about 38 mm
THALER: about 45 mm
