That's kind of a neat coin, isn't it? These coins were minted in aluminum bronze from 1920 to 1929. There are 100 centimes in a franc, so a 50 centimes coin is half a French franc. The same pattern was used for the 1 franc and 2 francs coins, with the 'bon pour' ('good for') annotation changed on the other side.
Here are some approximate catalog values for these coins:
50 CENTIMES
worn: less than $1 US dollar
averge circulated: $1
well preserved: $2
fully uncirculated: $5
coins dated 1921, 1928, and 1929 are worth about twice these values
1 FRANC
worn: less than $1 US dollar
averge circulated: $1
well preserved: $2
fully uncirculated: $6
coins dated 1920 and 1926 are worth about five times these values
coins dated 1927 are worth about twice these values
2 FRANCS
