Hi Mike -- These are neat old coins from Austria. Their big brothers, the 10 and 100 corona coins, are gold. Yours is silver, with 0.134 troy ounces of the precious metal. To evaluate your coin, we divide the series into two groups: (1) the common dates and (2) the better dates. Better date coins have lower mintages and fewer coins surviving until today, which drives the price up.
Here are the catalog values for common date coins:
worn: $5 US dollars
average circulated: $4
well preserved: $10
fully uncirculated (like our picture): $25
Coins dated after 1907 catalog at $10 when fully uncirculated.
Austria changed the design a little in 1908. Before that time, King Francis had a laurel crown.
The values on this page are catalog values. Use our Important Terminology page to understand what this means.
The better date coins are as follows, where the evaluations are for coins in average circulated condition:
1892: $160 when average circulated
1896: $30
1897: $30
1904: $16
1905: $35
1906: $270
1907: $140
