The key to value of these aluminum coins from the Wiemar Republic is their date, mint mark, and annotation. There are a few really *good ones* in this series, but most are low-value coins. First we'll discuss history and variations, then the low-value coins, then the valuable ones.
Germany became the Weimar Republik between the two World Wars. Constitution day (verfassungstag) was August 11, 1919, and this coin marked the 3 year anniversary. Some coins have the verfassungstag annotation, some do not. Also, in 1924, the aluminum composition was replaced by silver and the design changed with a large DREI replacing the numeral 3. The silver coins are more valuable.
