Mexico minted 2 pesos gold from 1919 to 1948, and 2 1/2, 5, and 10 pesos gold also during the same period. The 2 pesos coins look different than the 2 1/2, 5, and 10 pesos. You can see their appraisal page at this link.
A 2 pesos coin carries 0.048 troy ounces of gold. To figure the value of the coin, get the current gold value and multiply by 0.048. For instance, Kitco.com states that the current value of gold (at this writing) is about $1415 US dollars per troy ounce. That value multiplied by the 0.048 troy ounces in a Mexican 2 pesos is 0.048 x 1415 = $68 US dollars.
The value of the gold content is the approximate value of the coin. If you have a coin that is in beautiful numismatic condition, like the one in our picture, or if you have one of the rarer dates below, you can add a few dollars to the gold price.
