Wow. Great coin. If your coin is in well preserved condition, has no damage, cleanings, or other problems, and is genuine and not a counterfeit, the catalogs quote $400 US dollars value. Nice!
Sardinia was ruled by Carlo Felice (Felix) from 1821 to 1831, and by Carlo Alberto (Albertvs) from 1831 to 1849. You see many more Felix coins than Alberto coins, so that is good for the value of this coin under consideration.
The 25 and 50 centisimi, as well as the 5 lire Alberto coins are minted in silver and carry roughly the same pattern and inscriptions. We show a 5 lire coin from one of our favorite dealers, Coin House SESAM Basel in Riehen, Switzerland. This coin is on sale for 175 euros, about $240 US dollars. There are gold coins with similar patterns, but we address the silver coins here. The 175 euros is the retail price. If Coin House were to buy this coin from a collector, they would probably pay about one-half that amount. The mark up keeps the dealership in business.
