Dominican Republic 1, 5, 10, 25 Centavos, and Half and 1 Peso 1937 to 1975

Dominican Republic 1, 5, 10, 25 Centavos, and Half and 1 Peso 1937 to 1975

This beautiful pattern was used on many of the Dominican Republic's coins over an extended period of time, from 1937 to 1975. The 1 centavo pieces were minted in bronze, and some of the half (medio) peso and peso were minted in silver. Most of the issues are in copper-nickel.

Most of these coins are low value. Even low-value coins that are in superb shape, like the on in our photo, will command a few US dollars in collector value, because coin collectors are always on the look-out for fully uncirculated, eye-appealing specimens.
