It sounds like you have an pfennig from the old German State of Brunswick Wolfenbuttel. Scheide Munze means, approximately, franctional money. That is the giant 'wild man' of German and Slav legends, god of the forest. For the record, sometimes 'wild woman' shows up!
Value-wise, these small coins come with many variations and are more common than you might think. Collectors will seek nicely preserved specimens and pay decent prices to add them to their collections. The one in the picture is selling for 12 euros (about $17 US dollars) at Münzenhandlung Strüken.
Here are some typical catalog values. They apply to all dates in this series of coins:
worn: $5 US dollars approximat catalog value
average circulated (like the picture): $20
well preserved: $50
Some collectors follow Wild Man and specialize in collecting coins with his likeness. Find one of these, and you will likely sell your coin for a little more than to a normal (if that is possible) collector.
