Mexico 50 Centavos 1955 to 1983

Mexico 50 Centavos 1955 to 1983

This coin is worth less than $1 US dollar. It is a cool coin nevertheless. These coins were minted in both bronze and copper-nickel.

Modern coins that are made of non-precious metal, such as copper, nickel, aluminum, and steel are worth face value, nothing more. Only if a modern, non-precious coin is in fully uncirculated condition will a collector be willing to pay a few US dollars for it.

Some of the earlier dates start to pick up a little bit of value: coins dated 1955 or 1957 catalog at $1 when average circulated, $3 when well preserved. Fully uncirculated coins may reach $8 or so.
