You don't see these coins very much. The coin is from the Straits Settlements, now known as West Malaysia, with its major city Singapore, on the Malay Peninsula of Asia. In 1862 it was part of British India, hence the bust of Queen Victoria and the inscription India Straits.
These are valuable coins.
The one cent coins are much more common than their smaller counterparts. The 1/4 and 1/2 cent coins carry the same design as the 1 cent coins except, of course, for their size and the denomination on the reverse side.
