India (British) 2 Annas 1862 to 1901

These silver coins were minted in silver by the British for use in India from 1862 to 1901. Some title Victoria as 'Queen' others as 'Empress.' The catalogs quote unastounding values for these coins. Most you see are heavily worn.

A few of these coins were minted in copper and even fewer in gold. These off-metal strikes are worth quite a bit more than the standard silver coins. Copper coins catalog near $100 and gold coins catalog near $1000.
