All for Norway (Alt for Norge) on a few Norwegian coins, but this is the only one with a hole. The crossed hammers at the middle of the data are actually a mint mark. They mean the coin was minted at the Kongsberg mint.
These are generally low-value coins, but there are a few *key dates* that really stand out. Here is our summary of catalog values for all dates except those noted below.
worn: $1 US dollar approximate catalog values
average circulated (like our picture): $3
well preserved: $9
fully uncirculated, before 1940: $50
fully uncirculated, after 1939: $20
Coins dated 1927 are quite rare. An average circulated specimen catalogs for $150 or so.
Coins dated 1942 are minted in nickel brass and are very rare. Catalog value is $200 in average circulated.
Remember that these are inflated catalog values. Actual values will be less. To learn how to convert from catalog values to actual values, go to our Terminology page.
