Robert E. Lee was the famous Confederate general of the US Civil War. There are many different medals commemorating his achievements, and many different designs of these medals. As much as they are different, however, they all carry about the same value. They are medals, not coins, and therefore fall into the broad category in numismatics (coin collecting) known as exonumia, or coin-like objects.
There are many, many coin collectors, but far fewer exonumia collectors. This keeps the price of exonumia items low. For medals made out of base metal, like copper or pewter, figure a retail value of $10 to $25 US dollars. A Civil War enthusiast may pay more for a Robert E. Lee medal. Dealers generally buy such material for one-half of the retail price, or less.
For gold and silver medals, the current values of these metals apply by weight.
