Sherry sent us this picture of her German propaganda medal. The brutal dictator Adolf Hitler came to power in a few short months. There were 'free' elections, but after 10 months of masterful politicizing, only Nazi candidates were on the ballot. Part of the politics involved massive amounts of propaganda, some of which took the form of medals and medallions which were extra appealing because Germany was in very difficult economic times. If you do a CoinQuest search on 'nazi hitler' you will see several other examples of Hitler war material.
The German translates roughly to 'Our future: Adolf Hitler' and '1933: year of the German turning point'.
Nazi material is collected today and there are several web sites which specialize in this. Most medals, especially ones with Hitler's portrait, are modern souvenirs and novelty items, which is the case for the subject medal. There are also silver and gold plated versions made out of base metal. Approximately
