The pattern 'crowned shield with supporters' appears on several coins from the old German State of Baden, in southwestern Germany. The 1 kreuzer denomination looks similar to the 3 and 6 kreuzer, but the 1 kreuzer is minted in copper. This page applies to the silver 3 and 6 kreuzer pieces.
Most of these old coins you find today are pretty well worn and disfigured. The specimen in our picture comes from repsected coin dealer Wolfgang Rittig in Schwelm, Germany, where it is on sale for 29 euros, about $40 US dollars. This is a good price for such a nice-looking coin. Any collector would be proud to add this coin to his or her collection.
The listing below gives approximate catalog values for these coins. To meet these catalog prices, the coins must be free of problems like scratches, stains, corrosion, cleaning, and gouges. Refer to our Terminology page to convert catalog values to actual buy and sell values.
