These are modern coins made of aluminum bronze and are worth very little in circulated condition, less than $1 US dollar. Even in uncirculated condition, the catalogs shows very small value (a few US dollars). However, my guess is that truly uncirculated specimens of any date are quite rare and collectors would be willing to pay upwards of $10 for such a coin as long as they had no sign of circulation.
1956 was the last year of mintage, and only a few (668,000) coins were produced that year. As such, coins dated 1956 carry catalog values as follows
1 CRUZEIRO 1956 ONLY:
worn: $3 US dollars approximate catalog value
average circulated: $5
well preserved: $12
fully uncirculated: $25
