India Kashmir Rupee 1934 to 1942

Akash sent us this picture of his coin from India. After consulting with the experts over at CoinCommunity, it is identified as a silver rupee from the Princely State of Kashmir in far-northern India.

The date on Akash's coin is 1935VS, where VS means Vikram Sarnvat, a Hindu calendar popular in northern India. It is about 57 years ahead of the Western Gregorian calendar, so 1935VS is 1878AD.

The coin pictured is in excellent shape, what CoinQuest would call 'well preserved.' Here is what the catalogs say for values of these rupees from Kashmir:
