King Carl XIV was King of Sweden and King of Norway from 1818 until his death in 1844. King Oscar I took over in 1844 and reigned until 1859. Carl's and Oscar's likenesses appear on the 'heads' side of this coin and crossed arrows and wreath appear on the 'tails' side.
